Enjoyed the site, own the book and have my father's log books from the late 20s signed by RE Reawin. My dad was Charles D. Daily of Kansas City and flew for Inland and later was mangager of the KCMO airport. If anyone has any information on Charles Daily also called Chuck Daily, please respond Pat Daily Richmond, VA

Rearwin Sportster

A GREAT site. My first flight instruction was in a Sportster, Ringling Bros. airport, Sarasota, FL, 1938. That lead me to become a fighter pilot with the 8th Air Force, WW II (150 sorties), and another 30 missions in F-80's/F-86's during the Korean fracus. The Sportster experience culminated in a 29,750+ hours of an accident-free/violation-free career in the military, as an airline pilot, and lastly, as a corporate pilot. Thank you REARWIN!

Thanks a lot!

Cloudster no. 803

This is a great site Eric. The Warner enginne I have for the Cloudster is being rebuilt and we are going to recover the aeroplane over the winter. That way I can put it back in the factory scheme of Stearman Vermillion with blue and gold trim. Anyone have a colour match for the blue? With luck it should fly next year. But then I said that last year, and the year before . . .

Skyrangers

My uncle, P. R. Floyd and Aubrey Fowler bought a factory new Skyranger from Cowan Aviation at the Lumberton, North Carolina, Airport in 1946. I don't have the numbers, but I would sure like to locate it. I've wanted to own one every since I rode in that one as a fifteen year old kid.

Rearwin

I have a 1941 Rearwin Skyranger 180F that my father bought in 1969 to teach me to fly. We did a stc in 1972 and installed an 0235 lyc engine. It made a real performer out of the plane. It was involved in a hail storm and is awaiting rebuild. Nice web sight.

A couple of flights in a Rearwin as a boy, 45 years ago, started a passion for flying. I have been flying for over 25 years now, mostly in New Zealand but also in Scotland, I find that I am more interested in vintage aircraft as I get older. Who's surprised about that? This site is a real treasure - keep it alive please.

Great idea Eric! Former owner of N32402 at Torrance airport, CA. circa 1973-74. The airplane was restored by one of the Rearwin Brothers, now in Liberal, Kansas!
